Wilson Street Closed After Highway Collapses

Part of a major Wilson street is closed to northbound traffic after the highway caved in.

The State D.O.T. says Raleigh Road northbound is shut down between Gold and Lee streets. They say city crews were working on a sewage line when the road collapsed this afternoon.

The D.O.T. says they hope to be able to reopen the road by Tuesday night, but that's dependent on Tuesday's weather. A detour has been set up for both car and truck traffic.
