Wet Then Colder

Very mild temperatures moved into eastern North Carolina Tuesday. Highs reached the lower 70s in many locations even though skies remained mostly cloudy. Showers and thunderstorms will develop along a cold front tonight into Wednesday morning and some of those storms could be strong to severe. The showers will move quickly out of the area by Wednesday afternoon, with colder and drier air arriving. Highs late in the week and weekend will only reach the upper 40s to lower 50s despite plenty of sunshine.
