With the start of a new school year less than a week away, some families are getting some much needed help for their kids to be comfortable at school before the first bell rings.
The Wahl-Coates "Welcome Back Wagon" visited several neighborhoods Tuesday that are home to families who have kids attending the elementary school this fall. It gives families a chance to meet some teachers and ask questions about the new school year.
First Grader Rainy Bellamy says, "I'm excited because I'm going to have some new teachers and meet some new friends."
The students meeting the "Welcome Back Wagon" also received some free treats and were entered into a drawing for a backpack full of supplies.
School in Pitt County starts Monday.
