Authorities say a local man used a cement block to smash through the glass door of a business and steal nearly 1,500 lottery tickets.
The Wayne County Sheriffs Office arrested Odell Sheffield Jr. for the May 19th break-in at the Short Stop 75.
Deputies allege Sheffield stole thousands of dollars in lottery tickets, then tried to cash them at several Goldsboro businesses.
Deputies say the 38-year-old also broke into a Handy Mart on Highway 13 North in the same fashion May 29th and stole cigarettes.
Sheffield is being held on a $105,000 bond.
