Washington City Council wants to reduce utility bills for city residents by one-percent but some customers wonder how much of a difference that will even make for them.
Some residents say while they are glad to hear that the city is working to lower their electric bill, they haven't noticed the six-percent decrease that the city has made to their bill in the last three years.
Wendy Williams is excited about the reduction saying, "Every little bit helps." Others like Barney Waters says, "I don't think two or three dollars a month is going to make much difference."
Council members say reducing the electric rate will not solve the problem of having high electric bills. They say residents also need to do their part and reduce their power usage.
