Washington County Hospital is looking for a new chief operating officer after the current CEO retired on Monday.
Betty Bowen had worked at the Plymouth hospital for the past 40 years.
Gordon Docking, CEO for the hospital's parent company HMC/CAH Consolidated, says they were advised a couple of weeks ago that Bowen was going to retire. They have brought in Don Buchanon as interim CEO until a permanent one can be named. He says Bowen retired on her own.
Last month the 49-bed hospital laid off 15 employees, but Docking says there are no more cutbacks planned.
