High pressure across the Middle Atlantic region has kept eastern North Carolina seasonably warm and dry over the past few days. Moisture will increase Thursday as the high moves offshore and a light southeast to south wind develops across the area. Isolated showers and thunderstorms may develop late in the day but most locations will remain free of rain. There will be a better chance for showers on Friday as a weak cool front approaches from the northwest. Highs will hit the upper 80s the next two days.
