WITN Announces 2011 ECU Television Schedule

WITN, the official station of the ECU Pirates, will air four East Carolina football games during the 2011 season.

Game one of the WITN broadcast schedule will air on September 24th as the Pirates play host to Conference USA opponent UAB at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium. Game time is set for 3:30pm.

WITN will then air the Pirates road game at Memphis on October 15th from Liberty Bowl Stadium.

Consecutive home games against Tulane and Southern Miss round out the four game schedule. ECU and Tulane will kick off at 3:30pm While the Tulane game will be in conjunction with CSS-TV and slated for a 4pm start time.

As of now 10 of East Carolina's 12 regular season games in 2011 will be carried nationally, regionally or locally on WITN with the possibility of the remaining two road games at UTEP and Marshall being picked up as well.

That's pretty bad whenever a local TV station has to broadcast your ECU games since they are not good enough to be shown nation wide.

There are only 12 college games aired on national TV on each Saturday so there are a lot of teams that aren't "very good" apparently.

I grew up in Syracuse, NY. Believe me, Syracuse University (a founding member of the Big East) would LOVE this television coverage! SU has not been relevant in football in some years, but "Guru" 1. has no real college football world perspective (unless she is a fan of hapless Notre Dame or cheating Ohio State or some glamorous SEC school) OR 2. is simply here trolling. Either way, she is clueless.

Thank you Syracuse fan! I've always had tons of respect for your school, and have always liked Jim Boeheim. He's a great coach with lots of integrity and a class act, unlike Jim Calhoun, Roy Williams, Mike Kryzeski, and John Calipari. Hope to see your football program have better years to come when we join you guys in the Big East.
