Greenville Voter Fraud Hearing Tuesday

A hearing about complaints into possible voter fraud involving the District 2 race for Greenville City Council is set for Tuesday.

Last month several people sent letters to the Pitt County Board of Elections saying they were forced to write in the name of a candidate. Those complaints allege that members of the Tami Locust campaign forced them to write in her name, claiming voter intimidation. Locust's campaign manager, Christopher Taylor, says neither he nor Locust intimidated potential voters.

The elections board will hold the hearing at 9 a.m. They said it will be a information gathering session with witnesses being subpoenaed, while the results of the hearing will be forwarded on to the state Board of Elections.

Incumbent Rose Glover won the election last week with 62% of the votes.

If you're that easily "write in" a name, then you're too stupid to vote.
