Victim In Deputy Assault Case Facing Charge

The alleged victim in the assault case involving a Martin County deputy has found herself on the other side of the law.

Court records show that Dayna McClain was charged with misdemeanor filing a false report to a police station.

Last month Deputy Chris Johnson resigned from the Martin County Sheriff's Office after his arrest by Greenville police. He was accused of punching the woman in the mouth and knocking her two front teeth loose. A district court judge dismissed the charges against Johnson, who told WITN that with the charges dropped all parties could begin the healing process.

The 25-year-old McClain was arrested last week and has an April 5th court date.

@Deputy- Law enforcement are no different from others or "special" when it comes to the law....the law is the law....and trust no one is waiting for you guys to messed up.It just happens that when you guys do messed up it's a bigger deal because you are supposed to be the leaders and example of a society. Now, im not saying he did it or not...but I must say there is alot of DV victims who have suffer dv from law enforcement and its just even harder to prove the case because they are "law enforcemnt". At the same time there is alot of people who filed false reports just to messed up other peoples lives, but at the end no one, and I mean no one really knows what happened in all honesty; Only them two.

Well Well, look a here! See how easy it is for the public to just ruin somebody's life and career? People don't know what it's like to hold a position where you are looked at like you are not subject to "the outside world" This Deputy was plastard for no reason again at the public's expense. We are only human beings and deserve not to have people think that we are above ourselves. I respect Deputy Johnson and hope that he gets his name back from those who ridiculed him. Law enforcement people are special people and those who stand by and wait for us to mess up are pure hipocrits! Deputy Johnson, you do deserve your job back and for justice to be served on your behalf. Society needs to back off and realize that behind a gun and a badge are human beings not freakin robots with the remote in society's hand!!!!

To anon in New bern: you are obviously ignorant to the facts and you sound as if you have a biased opinion. Obviously the situation didn't occur as it was initially portrayed. And yes Chris did turn himself in, only because the warrant was already present.

Well isn't this interesting.... for those of you that were ready to string Johnson up at tree for these allegations I hope you all see the error of your ways for passing judgement without hearing both sides of the story. It would be good to hear that Johnson was offered his job back but if I were him I wouldn't go anywhere near that place cause once a set of "PIGS" always a set of "PIGS"..... keep ya head up Chris! Hope she rots in her cell like Ms. Sophia in "Color Purple" lol
