Flooding in Jones County Monday night left a man and his vehicle four feet underwater.

A black car hydro-planed into a ditch right across the street from Jones High School around 6:45 p.m Monday. Cars behind were forced to slam on the brakes, including Deputy Michael Davis who was in the right place at the right time.

"I immediately pulled up in the water to where it was at, got out of my patrol car, and dove in the ditch to make sure the person was okay," said Davis.

The male driver got out uninjured. Davis says he's never seen flooding like this along Highway 58.

A vehicle ended up partially submerged near the Senior High School on Highway 58 South in Trenton just before 7:00 p.m. Monday night.

Jones County deputies on scene say a deputy was following the car as it hydroplaned and ran into a ditch full of water. The deputy jumped in the water to help the male driver out. No one was injured.
