Cleanup Underway After Vandals Hit Pitt County High School

Cleanup is underway at a Pitt County high school after vandals struck over the weekend.

Some $30,000 in damage happened late Saturday night or early Sunday morning at Ayden-Grifton High School.

Vandals broke in and spray painted the football field and softball complex, including the dugout and press box. Equipment was stolen and tires were slashed on most of their maintenance equipment.

Monday crews were busy covering up the graffiti with fresh coats of paint. They hope to have the football field ready for games later this week.

So far no arrests have been made in the vandalism.
