Morehead City is gearing up for up to 200,000 visitors this weekend for the North Carolina Seafood Festival.
With the 25th anniversary celebration police anticipate more people will be out-- jamming into the waterfront area. They say patience is the name of the game while you're commuting into and around the city this weekend-- plus nearly 45 officers will be on hand.
Lieutenant Renee Hester says, "We have a stationary officer on each corner of each block. Then we have bike patrol- then we have patrol that's on the street- so we have enough officers to cover this event."
Hester says besides an occasional rowdy patron-- the seafood festival has never been a public safety concern.
