UTEP Coach Floyd Reprimanded By Conference

Greenville, NC -- The Conference USA commissioner has reprimanded first-year University of Texas at El Paso coach Tim Floyd for an outburst that got him tossed out of his team's loss at East Carolina on Wednesday night.

Commissioner Britton Banowsky says Floyd's actions Wednesday night were "unacceptable."

It took a police officer to remove Floyd from Wednesday's game at ECU.

Banowsky says he expects coaches to leave when they are ejected.

In the second half of the Miners' game against ECU at Minges Coliseum, Floyd was hit with a technical foul after being given a warning for coming onto the court and out of the coaches box. Floyd then continued to argue with the referees and after a second technical foul was issued Floyd was ejected from the game.

A UTEP assistant coach was ejected shortly afterward as well.

The Miners were whistled for 27 fouls and five technicals in the 83-76 loss to East Carolina.

Dave, stop making up the name JDLadd. I know the D in JDLadd would have to stand for David. Nobody else would respond to me in this way. You embarrassed yourself even worse.

Speaking of "typing", JDLadd, does your typewriter have an: (,) key? Your diction is embarrassing. Perhaps Dave could teach us English from Pittsburgh, or San Diego, or State College, or Greenville, or the "37th floor" of the Sad, Angry, and Destitute world in which he resides (heyyy... does that acronym spell S.A.D., Dave?); e.g. your state (of Pennsylvania), lot in life? Where's PK when we need her?! She's already made mincemeat out of you. I'm just a cheap, wannabe, poser, lackey. Good luck Dave, the Taxpayer Bane.

Posted by: piratejack Location: Hatteras on Feb 24, 2011 at 09:57 AM Neo, it's typically the opposite. ECU is known to be the ones to get cheated, whether it's by the refs, the NCAA, or the democrats up in the legislature who come from law school at Chapel Hill You mean those same legislators who FORCED Carolina to play ECU in football??? Too funny

First Dave comes up on his computer and trolls talking junk about everything that has to do with ECU and even this entire state, especially the sports teams and food (especially the eastern part). Second, he tries to act like it's the ECU fans that are unruly when he is the one doing this on the board behind everybody's backs. Third, he comes up and makes these other nicknames to make it look like others are agreeing with him. Fourth, he tries to claim he went to ECU when he talks trash about the academic programs here. Fifth, he goes up to facebook and tries to write to Gov. Perdue that she should'nt do anything to lobby for ECU to get into the Big East (meaning he's a scared Pitt Panther fan). Sixth, he starts hiding in a closet when there are numerous amount of people calling him out for trolling and taling trash. Seventh, Dave still wont leave this board and leave this state when at the same time he complains about this area all the time. Dave, you embarrassed yourself.

How funny, The officer does his job and some of you complain, if he had not done anything, some of you complain. This is the most undeciding community I have ever seen as far as your support for the Police in your county and City. Its a true shame, and most of you hide behind your little WITN comments. How funny!!!!!!!

For those of you who do not understand the role of a police officer at an ECU athletic event, let me enlighten you. Officers are there to provide security and to maintain order. This officer was not acting "overzealous," as some of you have posted. He was called over by the officials when the coach of the opposing team was kicked out of the game by the officials because of the way he was acting. If I was associated with UTEP I would be embarrassed. I know Officer Brown personally and he is an OUTSTANDING officer. He did exactly what he was supposed to do.

Wow,a reprimand. That's like announcing "sanctions" against Libya. A waste of breath!
