Two People Shot In Front Of Columbus, Ohio School

Two people were shot near a central Ohio elementary school.

Columbus Police Sgt. Elrico Alli says a 14-year-old boy was shot in the leg and is in critical condition. A 20-year-old man also was shot in the foot and is hospitalized in stable condition. Neither has ties to the grade school.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting in front of Liberty Elementary School on Thursday afternoon near dismissal time. Police say no schoolchildren were outside.

Columbus schools spokesman Andrew Marcelain says the school was locked down for about an hour.

Alli says police are interviewing people as part of their investigation.
