Some sea turtles were released back into their natural habitat Tuesday after being rehabilitated at the Sea Turtle Hospital in Topsail.
The turtles all came from the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center on Topsail Island.
The goal of the turtle hospital is to protect all marine turtles in the water and on the beach and to educate the public about the threat of their extinction.
A huge crowd showed up on Topsail Beach to send the turtles off.
The hospital, run entirely by volunteers, is currently building a new facility.
