Truckloads Of Stolen Equipment Seized

Deputies in Onslow County are spending the day going through truckloads of stolen equipment that was recovered this morning.

Sheriff Ed Brown says the haul includes guns, generators, TVs and items you can remove parts from and sell. Several truckloads of stolen equipment were seized from a home on Mattocks Road, south of Maysville.

The guns were found in a box buried in the backyard. Deputies had to dig it up after the sheriff used a diving rod to locate a cavity in the backyard.

Brown says the items seized is valued at $20,000.

Divining rod? Did they get an anonymous tip to this location from the Earth Spirits? Is it possible they used Ground Penetrating radar or metal detectors instead?
