Police have charged the driver of a pickup truck that plowed into the front of an auto parts store last week.
Williamston police charged Charles Hardison of Jamesville with failure to maintain lane control.
Hardison's pickup truck ran off the right side of West Boulevard last Wednesday afternoon, and struck a light pole before hitting the front of O'Reilly Auto Parts.
A police report says the truck caused an estimated $15,000 in damage to the store.
Hardison was not injured and the report does not indicate why the 72-year-old man ran off the road.
A pickup truck and an auto parts store will need some repair after the truck ran into the front of the business.
It happened Wednesday afternoon at O'Reilly Auto Parts on West Boulevard.
Witnesses say the truck first struck a light pole before running into the metal frame building.
That light pole was sheared in half and traffic lights attached to it were sitting on the ground.
Store employees said the wreck might have been caused by a medical problem of the truck's driver. That driver refused treatment at the scene.
No one was injured in the store, which will remain closed.
Building inspectors told employees the truck could not be removed until they determine whether the building is stable or not.
