The Highway Patrol says a sleepy 25-year-old lost control of his Mustang in Whitakers in Edgecombe County this morning.
Trooper JM Roy says he responded to an overturned vehicle on Highway 301 around 5 a.m. The driver, James Woolley of Rocky Mount, was able to crawl out of his car, which had flipped over in a swamp off the side of the road. Trooper Roy says Woolley had just scrapes and bruises from the crash.
Woolley was cited for failure to maintain lane control. Trooper Roy says Wooley was fatigued.
