Traffic Delays Expected On Beach Highway In Carteret County

You may need to give yourself a little extra time, if you're traveling to the Crystal Coast for the next month or so.

The DOT has contractors working on a section of Highway 58, just east of Ocean Ridge Road to the south end of the Indian Beach city limits in Carteret County.

The 9.5 mile resurfacing project will began Wednesday morning on the Atlantic Beach side and is expected to be completed by May 24, according to the DOT.

At least one lane of traffic will remain open at all time during construction. The project was originally set to begin in April, but because of nice weather they decided to move it up.
