To Details?: You forgot thr most obvious questions. Did the tree have strong roots in the community? Will it be leaving now that this has happened? Should it branch out and seek a new home? Should the driver switch to a new profession?

What kind of tree was it? (Magnolia?) Was the tree hurt? Who was at fault? Was alcohol involved? Will they allow dogs to visit the tree while it's in recovery? Have they called in a tree surgeon? The truck driver is obviously a sap.
