Toys For Tots Deadline

The deadline to support the Toys for Tots drive at WITN has arrived. The toy collection finishes at the close of business Tuesday.

A sincere thank you to all those who have made contributions so far. Your generosity is much appreciated and will make a difference for a child in the East on Christmas morning.

WITN's participation in this year's Toys for Tots drive is sponsored by Ashley Furniture Homestore, Robinson Law Firm, and Jet's Pizza. Our 2010 Toys for Tots drive will run from Monday, November 22nd to Tuesday, December 14th.

Toys For Tots is a campaign run strictly through the US Marine Corps since 1947. Throughout the United States, they have teamed up with various organizations that provide drop-off locations. The local Marine Corps collects all donations and distributes them to needy families in the area.

WITN-TV is proud to be one of the collection agencies working hand-in-hand with the Toys for Tots Foundation.

To make a Toys for Tots donation, simply drop off any new unwrapped toy(s) at the WITN Greenville or Washington studio during the scheduled times:

Washington Studio - Hwy 17 S. in Chocowinity
Monday-Friday, 9am-6pm

Greenville Studio - Arlington Blvd.
Monday-Friday, 7am-10:30am

All toys dropped off at the Greenville studio will be distributed to families in Pitt County. Toys dropped off at the Washington studio will be distributed to families in Beaufort County.

The Toys for Tots has existed since 1947. Since then, millions of American children have received a toys. This simple little act gives hope to these children. It has been said that the American people are the most generous people in the world; this program proves this out. The generous people of Pitt County, who donated to support this program, deserves a pat on the back. And the organizations who held an event in support of this program deserves two pats on the back. Let see if the recipients of this program gives out kudos to the donators.
