Three Overnight Beaufort County Fires Under Investigation

Deputies are investigating three fires overnight in Beaufort County.

Sheriff's Captain Kenneth Watson says Sunday night there was a marsh fire off Hwy 264 near Terra Ceia Rd. A second fire this morning at an abandoned barn happened on Possum Hill Road and the last at an abandoned building on Peoples Road in Bath.

Investigators say they are confident that the three fires are likely related.

Last week a former Kinston police officer was charged with setting seven fires in Beaufort and Washington counties, but authorities say they believe someone else is responsible for starting several other fires in the county.

...ummmm, I'm not criminal expert, but why do you get bail when you turn yourself in? Think about it!

I'm sure the BCSO is doing all they can do. Arsons are not easy to solve by any means. Rest assured that all assests are being used to track down the person as the SBI is called in to investigate all arsons of suspicious natures on residences

I think they should check Mr. Jarvis' phone records to see who his accomplice is. Surely there were calls made during the fires. Criminals love to talk to other criminals about their crimes.

If it is proof that Mr. Jarvis had help, he should stay locked up until he tells who was helping him, no matter how long it takes.

To everyone Mr.Jarvis was checked for these fires and he was home when all of them were started. For the arson part there was no way that Mr. Jarvis did it alone.. There has to be someone who was helping him and that person or people are still out there and they are probably the ones who started the ones last night and this morning. Also to everyone WITN has it wrong it was a wooded area on possum hill and a small barn on peoples rd.
