The Boys and Girls Club of Pitt County held a benefit BBQ luncheon at the Jack Minges unit of the club on Fire Tower road in Winterville Wednesday.
Organizers say the turnout was great. 2,800 people helped support the clubs.
Tickets were $10.00 a piece and included BBQ, fried chicken, stew, potatoes, cole slaw and bread. People could dine in or drive through - and organizers say every dollar will stay local.
More than 30 local businesses sponsored the luncheon and WITN's Heather King was there helping to serve the BBQ.
