Teen Killed, Another Injured In Wayne County Wreck

A car accident in Wayne County claimed the life of a teenager and sent his brother to the hospital.

Reports say their jeep ran under the chassis of a flat-bed trailer. The wreck took place on Indian Springs Rd. in Dudley Wednesday night.

The Highway Patrol is investigating the wreck that killed Rene Nuncio, 14, according to the Goldsboro News Argus. The paper says his 17-year-old brother was taken to Wake Medical Center for treatment after the crash.

Same thing happened to one of my son's friends way back in the late '90's; he was only 17 yrs. old. He was headed down a dark country back road to pick up his girlfriend, but he didn't make it. A log truck was backing into a residential driveway, the cab headlights facing down one lane of the two-lane, the cab half-backed into the driveway, and the young man driving in the opposite direction. The attorney determined the semi's headlights blinded the young man from the trailer's position on the roadway. Not saying this is what happened here, just relaying some history. Condolences to both families, and their friends.
