During Tuesday night’s repairs in the Swansboro area, ONWASA was able to isolate the water outage to a much smaller section, resulting in fewer residents and businesses who were affected by the water outage and the precautionary boil water advisory. The areas that are affected are:
-- Water Street – between Church Street and Broad Street
-- Elm Street – between Main Street and Broad Street
-- Walnut Street – between Church Street and Broad Street
-- Church Street – between Walnut and Water Street
ONWASA says these are the only areas affected by the precautionary boil water advisory. The water company says this is only a precaution while the remainder of the work is completed.
Once water service is restored, it will be at least 24 hours until testing is complete. ONWASA will then notify residents when the advisory has been lifted.
While the boil water advisory is in effect, residents should boil all water used for human consumption for one to three minutes.
