Routine Greenville Traffic Stop Nets Two Kilos Of Cocaine

Authorities say they seized two kilos of cocaine after a routine traffic stop in Greenville Tuesday morning.

Greenville police have charged Jose Aguilar of Canton, NC with trafficking by possession and trafficking by transportation.

Police say an officer stopped the man's pickup truck for traffic violations on Highway 264 near Old Stantonsburg Road. A K-9 alerted to drugs and a subsequent search of the truck netted lawmen the cocaine, worth an estimated $200,000.

Aguilar is jailed on a $525,000 bond.

A man suspected of trafficking cocaine is behind bars at the Pitt County Detention Center.

Jose Aguilar, 29, is currently under a $500,000 bond and will make his first court appearance Wednesday. Aguilar is from Canton, N.C., which is west of Asheville.

    Yea they had a informant because I take 264 home every night and when I came through there last night I seen about 10 police cars waiting......

    Here we go again, another "routine" traffic stop? C'mon man. Just say you have a snitch (informant to all of you that dont like the word SNITCH) that clued you in on the arrival of some dope.

        Uhm, What you dont understand is that the snitch was likely a dealer who got busted and cooperated with the fuzz to get out of trouble.A criminal who likely knows other sources for his product and will continue to do the thing.Snitches are weak people with no backbone.That being said I hate cocaine and AM glad they got him.
