Suspected Armed Robber Arrested

A man is under arrest in Goldsboro for an armed robbery Friday night. Antell Nobles was arrested after the Handy Mart at 2011 Highway 70 West was held up. Police say the armed robbery took place at 8:30 p.m., and the gunman used a rifle.

Police say Nobles was arrested thanks to the efforts of officers from both the city and the county.

A magistrate set Nobles' bond at $150,000. He may face more charges, according to Goldsboro Police.

It's not clear if Nobles is part of the recent string of armed robberies in Wayne County that lawmen have been investigating. Lawmen say robberies of convenience stores and small family-owned businesses have skyrocketed in the last 45 days.

If we would give the Death Penalty for crimes like this it would put an end to it.

I AGREE with Cold Weather Criminals!!! And no I dont know "what it be like" but I do know my home has been broken into and how it has affected myself and my 3 innocent kids. The thought of someone invaiding your privacy and your kids having RESTLESS nights of sleep and crying all the time bc they are SCARED TO DEATH that it might happen again while we are home..thats worse than I could ever explain!! No one knows how it feels until they have been broken into!! I would NEVER take up for someone like this..misunderstood?? who are you kidding! He needs to get a job like the rest of us and stop stealing from us and our innocent children!!!!!

Can't be true. Media is spinning this. Look at his face, it's a face of innocence. He was just armed with a weapon that kills, and was at the store buying a soda with money he worked hard for. Again, complete spin, and this man i'm SURE is just misunderstood.

They should do some research on temperatures and the effect on crime. If they can't afford to keep their house/apartment warm (if they have a place, not living in a shelter or under a bridge) they just commit a robbery. If they get caught, it solves their immediate problems as would the money they steal. It's a win/win (except the criminal record. But that's long term...and criminals rarely think "long term". Last time, Antell spent 45 days in lockup. So he probably figures he'll be out by the summer ...when it's warm.
