NEW INFO: 990 Bags Of Lethal Heroin Off Greenville Streets

Greenville Police said after a two-month long investigation, 990 bags of lethal heroin were seized.

Officers in Greenville called this batch deadly because it was laced with something a hundred times more potent than Morphine.

We told you about an arrest related to that drug seizure the morning after Greenville Police said they caught 36-year-old Jason Blount in the middle of a drug deal. Blount was arrested on May 28th.

Now we have learned after Blount was put in jail under a $1.5 million bond, officers said the seized drugs were sent off to a lab.

On June 26th, police said they learned the heroin was laced with Fentanyl, a painkiller which police said is 100 times the strength of Morphine.

Officers said the combination is lethal and was being kept in white, glassine baggies with a red stamp "Master Mind" on the bag. A photo of those baggies is attached to this story.

Those drugs had a street value of $19,800, according to narcotics detectives.

Nearly a thousand bags of heroin have been seized after a two month investigation by the Greenville Regional Task Force.

On Wednesday, task force members arrested Jason Blount of Greenville after seeing what they believed was a drug deal while they were conducting surveillance.

They found 990 bags of heroin worth an estimated $19,800. Officers also seized $2,615 in cash.

The 36-year-old Blount has been charged with numerous counts of trafficking heroin and is jailed on a $1.5 million secured bond.

A suspected drug dealer who is under a hefty bond will face a judge Thursday.

Greenville Police arrested 36-year-old Jason Blount Wednesday night, according to Detention Center Officers.

Officials arrested Blount on nine counts of trafficking opium or heroin, and one count of possession of the drug with intent to sell or deliver it.

Blount is being held on a $1.5 million bond and will make his first court appearance Thursday morning.
