Suspect Arrested In Weekend Stabbing

A suspect is behind bars charged in an early Saturday morning stabbing in New Bern.

New Bern Police say officers responded to 912 Green Street around 3:00 a.m. for a reported stabbing.

Police say the victim, 46-year-old Tyron Bryant, was found outside the apartment and transported to Carolinaeast Medical Center with a superficial knife wound to his upper torso. Bryant was later released.

Police later arrested 31-year-old Wade Koonce and charged him with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.

Koonce was placed in the Craven County jail under a $50,000 secured bond.

    More idiots up at 3 AM getting into trouble. Go to bed, get up early and WORK (or Volunteer) and the crime goes away.
