Greenville Police are donating surplus bikes to a local organization aimed at helping at-risk youth get back on the right track.
The Greenville Police Department gave 13 bicycles to the Building Hope Community Life Center.
The center is a youth development program that's operated gang prevention and drop-out prevention programs for more than 10 years.
The bikes, which were used for community patrol and have been replaced, are going to the center's recycle bike shop program.
The program teaches the boys and girls the value of honest work.
The kids earn a paycheck and a taste of what small business ownership looks like.
Building Hope Community Life Center purchased the entire lot of surplus bicycles for $1.
