The cloudy and cold conditions that enveloped eastern North Carolina Tuesday will slowly improve over the next few days as sunshine returns to the area. Temperatures will dip into the upper 20s to lower 30s overnight but rebound into the lower 50s Wednesday afternoon. The sunshine should make it feel even warmer in the afternoon. Warmer air will arrive Thursday as highs reach the lower 60s. The next chance for showers will arrive Thursday night into Friday.
