Warm and generally dry conditions will continue across eastern North Carolina on Monday. High pressure will slowly move offshore during the day allowing a weak trough of low pressure to approach the area. We could see some widely scattered thunderstorms but most locations will remain free of rain. Highs will reach the middle to upper 80s during the afternoon. Coastal communities will have highs about 3° to 5° cooler. Dry weather will continue for the first half of the week.
