Warmer and slightly drier air will flow into eastern North Carolina on Friday causing temperatures to reach the lower to middle 80s in the afternoon. There will only be some isolated showers and storms during the day. A better chance for showers will develop by late Friday night and Saturday as a cold front approaches from the west. The threat of rain will continue through Sunday as an area of low pressure develops near the coast. Highs will cool slightly over the weekend due to clouds and showers.
