High pressure will settle across eastern North Carolina Monday night and Tuesday. Temperatures will dip into the lower 40s by sunrise then rebound into the lower 70s Tuesday afternoon. The only exception will be the immediate coast where highs will stay in the lower to middle 60s. Winds will be much lighter on Tuesday. Warmer air will return for Wednesday as highs hit the lower 80s. A few showers or thunderstorms may develop by Wednesday afternoon.
