A cold front swept into eastern North Carolina early Wednesday causing a few showers and gusty winds. The clouds associated with the front were moving offshore late Wednesday afternoon. Temperatures will dip into the lower to middle 40s overnight under clear skies. Sunny skies with highs in the upper 60s can be expected on Thursday. Highs will rebound into the middle 70s Friday and Saturday. There will be a slight risk of a shower late Friday. Otherwise, it should remain dry as we head into the weekend.
