Sun Comes Out And Melts Most Of The Snow

Belhaven In Beaufort County was one of the locations that saw several inches of snow early Thursday morning.

The official snow total was 3.5 inches. Most of the snow melted away by late in the afternoon, but people enjoyed it while it was there.

Employees at Gingerbread Bakery at O'Neil's snack bar say they don't mind the snow because it's been good for business. Melissa Alligood says, "It's been crazy today - people have not stopped coming! They've been coming in all day, left and right since 6:00 o'clock this morning."

Pitt County didn't see quite as much snow. In Grimesland there was about half an inch. Nevertheless, parents and kids spent the early morning outside playing until it all melted away.

Craven County had just enough snow that it closed school for the day. While people were out enjoying it while it stuck around, students now have another snow makeup day.
