A strong cold front will push into western North Carolina overnight bringing a risk of severe weather to that area. The area will push eastward on Thursday as the cold front moves into our area. Temperatures will hit the 80s ahead of the front causing the air the become increasingly unstable. Straight line winds, some hail, brief heavy rainfall and tornadoes are possible. The front will push off the coast Thursday night ending the severe threat. Sunny skies can be expected for Friday and the weekend. Highs Friday will hit the middle 70s with near 80 degree reading on Saturday and Sunday.
