Breezy and warm conditions will continue across eastern Carolina today with a risk of storms. A strong cold front will move into the western portion of the state during the day bringing showers and storms. The storms will spread east into our area during the afternoon and evening.
A few of the storms could be strong to severe with gusty winds in excess of 60 mph and hail. The most likely time for the storms would be between 3 pm and 10 pm Saturday. The cold front will push the showers offshore Sunday morning followed by clearing skies for Mother's Day afternoon.
It will remain warm over the weekend with highs in the lower to middle 80s Saturday and upper 70s on Sunday afternoon. Sunshine and cooler conditions are expected early next week.
