Storm Damage In Lenoir & Duplin Counties

There is storm damage reported in a couple of counties from severe weather that blew through Wednesday night.

In Lenoir County there are reports of the roof being blown off the Sandy Bottom Church about four miles Southeast of Kinston. There are also trees down on British Road, a tree fell on a house near Highway 258 heavily damaging it and powerlines are down on Highway 58 and Liddell Road.

In Duplin County a roof was blown off the Summertime Ice Cream Shop at the intersection of D.W. Williams Road and NC Highway 11 one mile Southeast of Kenansville.

    Joe, The smoke in the air is from the fire in Pender County that has burned almost 20,000 acres this week. there is no end in sight for the fire. However we are supposed to get some rain over the weekend. So far I haven't seen anything on base closings.

    i was wondering what was going on with the smoke in the air will it be cleared up by thursday and if not are there any base closeings
