RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -- Janesha Ebron scored 20 points and Danielle Butts 16 as South Central Pitt defeated Hickory 61-58 in overtime on Saturday for the Class 3-A North Carolina High School Athletic Association women's championship.
The Falcons (28-4) also reached the finals a year ago, but lost to Gastonia Forestview.
Ebron, an East Carolina signee, had 10 rebounds while Butts, a North Carolina signee, grabbed 11.
Jada Payne, who will play for LaSalle, had 29 points for Hickory (28-3), while UNC Charlotte-bound Hillary Sigmon added 15.
Hickory led most of the game, but Butts scored the last four points of regulation to send it to overtime at 49-49.
Butts then put the Falcons ahead for the first time since the opening period with a short jumper at 3:09.
The Falcons led by five in the extra period, and sealed it on Amber Clark's steal from Sigmon in the closing seconds.
