South Carolina Man Named New Washington City Manager

Washington has hired a new city manager. Josh Kay will begin August 1st.

Kay, who holds a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of South Carolina, is currently city manager of Clinton, South Carolina. He started in Clinton as an assistant city manager in 2005 and then promoted to city manager in 2007.

Kay will replace Jim Smith with resigned in October after five years. Smith is now town manager in Farmville.
