Some Irene Victims Now Living In FEMA Trailers

It's been more than two weeks since FEMA announced they were bringing in trailers for residents affected by Hurricane Irene, and a few families in Pamlico County are now living in their temporary homes.

FEMA trailers are being set up on Goose Creek Island. Many people who are moving into their trailers have been living in flood damaged homes for more than a month.

Willie Midgette says he was grateful to get a trailer on his property last week. He says having the trailer will make the work on his home go a lot smoother and quicker since he doesn't have to live around the construction.

More trailers are being brought in for other homeowners.

FEMA says it takes one to two weeks, on average, for a trailer to be move-in ready once it's delivered.
