Some Clearing By Wednesday Afternoon

The storm responsible for heavy rainfall across eastern North Carolina Monday night has now moved well to our northeast. As much as 2 to 3 inches of rain fell along and east of Highway 17. Coastal communities received the highest amounts with Morehead City getting 3.2 inches. Some leftover drizzle or patchy light rain can be expected overnight with some clearing likely by Wednesday afternoon. Highs should reach the middle to upper 50s in most locations. Dry weather will continue into Thursday before another round of showers arrives Thursday night or early Friday.
