Smoke From 2 Wildfires Combining To Create Dense Fog

Pains Bay wildfire smoke analyst Gary Curcio says the smoke from the more than 45,000 acre fire in Dare county is converging with smoke from the Juniper Road wildfire in Pender and Onslow counties which is expected to form very dense fog on Roanoke Island and the outer banks as the smoke from the fires combine Thursday night and Friday morning.

The 70 square mile Pains Bay Fire located one mile west of Stumpy Point is 95% contained. The Juniper Road fire has burned more than 21,000 acres and is 10% contained.
