Sheriff Wes Tripp says the pilot was the only person on board when it crashed off Andrew Hale Road outside of Littleton.

The Federal Aviation Administration tells WITN News that the Cessna 182 pilot reported engine problems. The plane had been diverted to the Halifax-Northampton Regional Airport and crashed in a field, some five miles southwest of the airport around 10:00 a.m. It landed upside down in the field.
