Lawmen in Pitt County say they have found the body of a man who was the subject of a statewide Silver Alert.
The alert for Roger Shupe was issued Saturday. The 58-year-old man was last seen on Porter Road.
His body found Tuesday morning by a Highway Patrol helicopter in Belvoir off a dirt path near where he lived. Sheriff Neil Elks says they are still investigating the circumstances on how the man died.
The N.C. Center for Missing Persons has issued a Silver Alert for a missing endangered man from Pitt County.
Roger Crockett Shupe, 58, is believed to be suffering from dementia or some other cognitive impairment. Officials say he was last seen at 1272 Porter Road in Greenville.
Shupe is a white man, 6'0", weighing 215 lbs. He has short brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a gray shirt, blue jeans and white tennis shoes.
