Body of Silver Alert Victim Found In Lake

The body of a missing Wilson County man has been recovered from Silver Lake this morning.

Bobby Ray Winstead was the subject of a statewide Silver Alert issued overnight.

The 71-year-old Winstead was last seen at his home in Wilson, but was last known to be fishing at Silver Lake, which is off of Highway 58 North. Crews found the man's tackle box and fishing gear on one side of the lake, while his boat was found on the other side of the water.

Officials have issued a silver alert for a man last seen in Wilson.

The Wilson County Sheriff's Office is searching for 71 year old Bobby Ray Winstead. He is believed to be suffering from dementia and has a history of stokes. Winstead is described as 5'5'' and 165 lbs with short gray hair and green eyes. He has a slight limp and weak right side.

Winstead was last seen at his home in Wilson, but was last known to be fishing at Silver Lake, which is where officials focused their search overnight. Crews found the man's tackle box and fishing gear on one side of the lake, while his boat was found on the other side of the water.

He was last seen wearing a white, button down shirt with burgundy and green stripes and khaki pants.
