Showers Overnight Then Clearing Thursday

A strong cold front will push into eastern North Carolina late tonight causing another round of showers and thunderstorms. Total rainfall amounts should average between a quarter and half-inch, with a few heavier amounts. The showers should end early Thursday followed by drier and cooler air. We will see lots of sunshine by the afternoon with highs in the upper 60s. More sunshine can be expected Friday but clouds and showers could move in by the weekend.
