A strong cold front will bring showers and a possible thunderstorm to eastern North Carolina by Friday morning. About one-quarter to one-half inch of rainfall is expected. The front will push to the coast by early Afternoon then into the coastal waters by evening. Much cooler air will move into the area during the day as temperatures fall from the lower 60s just before sunrise to the 50s during the afternoon. Clearing skies can be expected Friday night with sunny conditions for the weekend. Highs will be in the 50s Saturday then warm into the lower 60s by Sunday afternoon.
